teen sitcom girl meets world (2014current) might focus on 7th grader riley (rowan blanchard) and her witty friend maya (sabrina carpenter), but it’s actually a spin-off of boy meets world (1993-2000) about the lovestruck cory and topanga (ben savage and danielle fishel). the pair have reprised their now-adult roles in the disney sequel series – here’s what you need to know about girl meets world… the show’s set in new york city, but it’s actually filmed in los angeles. they tape every tuesday in front of a live studio audience. “the atmosphere is always electric,” corey fogelmanis (farkle) reveals, adding that the cast also meet the audience to sign autographs. the younger cast go to school on set. about three hours of their onset day is devoted to studying and there is a dedicated school room and teacher. ben reveals that everyone on set is very environmentally conscious. “we don’t have plastic water bottles on the set. instead, we all use refillable containers. plus, we have a huge recycling bin right next to my dressing room.” not only do the younger cast hang out at lunch, they also play every friday. “we go out to eat or bowl or watch a movie,” says peyton meyer (lucas).
