always dreamt of. “He’ll be going solo for now, but we have plans for him to advance his career,” Rohan reveals. “He’s had a bit of a chequered career in terms of being a cop. He’s had ups and downs, things that have made him look bad, and we want to kind of re-establish Eddie as a good guy and a good cop.”
While the mining town’s residents come to grips with the loss, actress Leeanda is already moving on and is tackling the freelance acting industry after many years of being on contract at Isidingo. “It sounds daunting, but I’m ready,” says Leeanda, who filmed her final Isidingo scene at the end of April. “I recently got a role in a drama that’s being shot for international and local TV. There will be some film work both behind and in front of the camera and some theatre – for now.”
But she admits that leaving the SABC3 soap was no easy task. “It was emotional. I was saying goodbye to an extraordinary team. I didn’t struggle during the shooting of the final scene – reality only struck me after the scene.”
