Hi tvplus. Please tell me more about the new BBC channels – LOLA ABRAHAMS, CAPE TOWN

TV Plus (South Africa) - - YOU ASK -

It’s out with the old and in with the new. BBC is giving their entire brand a facelift by scrapping BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120) and BBC Knowledge (184) from Tuesday 1 September. In its place, BBC Brit will replace BBC Entertainment, bringing viewers factual entertainment that’s more aimed at male viewers, like gameshows Pointless (2009- current) and Duck Quacks Don’t Echo (2014- current). BBC Earth will take over from Knowledge as the nature destination of choice. Also on the list of newcomers is BBC First (119), which will be available to Premium subscribers only from Sunday 18 October. BBC First will air exclusive series such as Downton Abbey (2010- current), Doctor Who (2005current) and Wolf Hall (2015). Meanwhile, BBC Lifestyle, CBeebies and BBC World News will carry on as usual.
