FEBRUARY: WALKING AWAY
After spilling an obscene amount of blood on the mine, Ronald and Big Boy head home, much to Happiness’s dismay. The absence of the brothers brings back two old villains, who’ve returned to take advantage of the situation at the mine. May can hardly look herself in the mirror when her plan with Israel fails and she’s forced to make a tough decision. The men’s homecoming isn’t as happy as they’d hoped when Nandipha falls ill and secrets come tumbling out about their life at the mine as Juan and Scar continue to wreak havoc in their absence, with Happiness suffering most. The drama at the homestead has May and Ruth bonding over their respective troubles and the kids are drawn in when Olwethu learns unsavoury facts about her brother Lucky’s past and what he’s been up to behind everyone’s back. Ronald may have left the mine but his actions there still haunt him as he sinks into depression. On top of that, the truth about Hlengiwe (Fikile Mthwalo) and the paternity test is revealed, humiliating a down-in-the-dumps Ronald even more. As Nandipha’s pain disappears, Ruth comes to the realisation that the man she loved wasn’t who she though he was. Big Boy and Nandipha look ahead to the future with their new baby, and Ronald bids farewell.
MARCH: HOSTAGE CRISIS
The Gumedes are under threat when Juan and Scar exact their revenge on the family, forcing Ronald and Big Boy to return to the mine to earn ransom money for their family who’re being held captive. Lucky joins his brothers as he realises his dream of becoming a Zama Zama, while back at the homestead, his mom and sister’s escape plan goes awry when shots are fired and blood is shed. During the hostage drama, Nandipha welcomes her baby without Big Boy and Ronald gets more blood on his hands. Later, the law finally catches up with Ronald and his brother. NB! Gold Diggers ends on Friday 11 March and Ashes To Ashes season 2 starts Monday 14 March.
There’s drama on the Gold Diggers screen for Big Boy and Nandipha.
