A disgruntled Dintle (Mapaseka Koetle) is, yet again, not being showered in diamonds. Instead she’s stuffed into an apartment with (in her eyes) common trash like Stokkies ( Wayne van Rooyen), Anzani (Fulu Mugovhani) and Lerumo (Tshepo Mosese). And when Dintle’s husband Mangi (Kagiso Modupe) moves in with them on Monday 27 June, it’s the last straw. Dintle’s on the hunt for something better and on Wednesday 29 June she has him in her crosshairs – a wounded male, weak from alcohol and best of all, loaded. So what if he is Mangi’s cousin? Look out, Quinton (Brighton Ngoma)!

Dintle’s actually furious with Mangi when she approaches Quinton at local watering hole Qs to make her play. Any restaurant ownership plans that businessman Hector (Tumisho Masha) was making with Mangi were definitely off the table the moment that Hector uncovered Mangi’s betrayal on Tuesday 14 June. “Dintle forces Mangi to go Quinton’s drunk… but is he drunk enough to be tempted by Dintle? talk to Hector’s business partner Naledi (Dineo Moeketsi) because it was in the pipeline and the papers were ready; it’s just that they weren’t signed. She tries to force Mangi to do illegal stuff like forging signatures,” reveals Mapaseka.

Mangi refuses to follow his wife’s suggestions and Dintle isn’t giving a thought to how he must feel. “She thought that she was going to be this beautiful girl who was going to be a hostess at her husband’s restaurant, but it didn’t happen and she’s frustrated and angry. The fact that he doesn’t have a job is even worse. Dintle is the one who’s paying rent. She didn’t sign up for that,” says Mapaseka.

“Dintle can see that Quinton has just bought a sports car but he’s vulnerable and drinking. Quinton is miserable. She sees an opportunity and thinks, ‘Let me try my luck,’” says Mapaseka. “She goes up to him and says, ‘Thembeka (Masasa Mbangeni – Quinton’s wife) is gone, so maybe you and me can be good together.’ And if Quinton turns out to be nowhere near drunk enough to jump at that offer, Dintle has another proposal up her sleeve for him – and it’s super cheeky… even for her!
