What happens after Days goes dark on SABC3

Like sands through the hourglass, we’re really going to miss Days Of Our Lives.

TV Plus (South Africa) - - FRONT PAGE -

tvplus has been writing about Days Of Our Lives with joy, hilarity, horror and fascination for the past 15 years. And we’ll be joining South African Days fans in saying an absolutely heartbroken goodbye when SABC3 airs its final episode on Wednesday 20 July as part of its plan to increase local content (see more on p4). But while it’s “so long Salem” for South Africa, it’s not the end of the story. So with a big SPOILER ALERT, here’s how our favourite characters’ current storylines tie up, along with some of the most sensational drama that we’re going to miss out on…

The last we’ll see: EJ (James Scott) works to get Sami (Alison Sweeney) out of jail for killing crooked cop Bernardi (Anthony Tyler Quinn). Then ’til now: Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) hands over the razor that proves Sami’s innocence, and Sami and Kate (Lauren Koslow) help Gabi (Camila Banus) to cover up Gabi’s supposed murder of Nick (Blake Berris) by dumping the body in the Salem River. But Nick’s last will and testament leads to Sami being sent photos proving that EJ has been having an affair with Abby (Kate Mansi), so Sami gets EJ arrested on their wedding day. After Nick returns in a blackmailing mood, Gabi murders him and is sentenced to 10 years in jail. Then Sami’s left heartbroken when EJ is shot and killed by rival druglord Clyde Weston (James Read) and she moves to Hollywood. She returns to Salem when Will (then played by Guy Wilson) is murdered by the Necktie Killer – really Abby’s boyfriend Ben Rogers (Robert Scott Wilson), who turns out to be Clyde’s son. Then Sami escapes kidnapper Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) and goes on the run with her kids.

EJ is going to die. We asked but e.tv says that there are, sadly, no plans to pick up Days.

Kate, Sami and Gabi try to dump Nick’s body.

Hope shoots Stefano in a rage. Is this really the end of Stefano?
