“Hands off my man!”

Zolani’s into Reneilwe, but he’s engaged to Nomalanga…

It’s heating up for Zolani and Rene… Weekdays e.tv (*194) 19:00

When businessman Zolani (Melusi Mbele) and teen Reneilwe (Amo Chidi) hooked up in June, Zolani was keen on keeping it quiet. But her friends Bash and Mampho (Siphiwe Mtshali and Itumeleng Bokaba) were right to question Reneilwe’s relationship after a woman shows up on Wednesday 13 July looking for her…

“When we meet the woman, she’s on a mission,” says Nomalanga Shozi, who plays mysterious Nomalanga. And after careful plotting, she goes to Reneilwe’s work posing as an HR consultant on Friday 15 July. “The first thing she does at Kilowatt is ask if Reneilwe is in. She plays along when Bash flirts with her because she’s devious. He tells Nomalanga that Reneilwe’s at her second job at radio station Zer011, so Nomalanga goes in for the kill.”

Nomalanga tells Reneilwe that she’s fully aware of how Rene got her job as Zolani’s PA – by sleeping with him. And Mampho confirms that she was fired and Rene hired in her job when Nomalanga approaches her. Reneilwe’s upset on Monday 18 July that Mampho sold her out and Nomalanga is now one step closer to exposing her fiancé’s affair. “Zolani left Nomalanga in KZN for business in Joburg,” says Nomalanga. “She loves him with her entire being but he’s just with her for her money and connections.”

…but he hasn’t told her about his fiancée Nomalanga… Rene doesn’t yet know who Nomalanga is but she should be worried about her rival because “Nomalanga isn’t going to let some snotty teenager destroy her future,” says Nomalanga. But who will win the battle for Zolani’s heart?

Twenty-two-year-old Nomalanga Shozi nabbed the role of Nomalanga out of thousands of online entries:

Why did you enter the Rhythm City auditions? I knew I could do it. They were looking for a Nomalanga and my name is Nomalanga, so why not? What were you doing before this? I’m a radio presenter on Durban’s Gagasi FM weekdays and Saturdays. I’m also a final year Public Relations student at Rosebank College, because it goes hand-in-hand with the industry. And how are you different from your character? I’d like to think that I’m a sweetheart and very straightforward. She’s manipulative and shady.
