Patrick Fugit has come a long way since his first big role as groupie-loving rock journo William Miller in drama movie Almost Famous (2000). The 34-year-old is tackling his first lead on TV as demon exorcist Kyle Barnes in horror show Outcast (2016-current) – and he’s thriving in his role. “What’s interesting about Kyle is that his story is dark and his circumstances are very dark. But I work hard to get across that Kyle is a very bright person,” says Patrick.
Dealing with demons is new terri1

Patrick didn’t enjoy school either 2

In comedy movie Saved! (2004), 3
Patrick’s role was re-written from “Ryan the surfer” to “Patrick the skateboarder”. He joked that “I can’t surf. I skateboard and there are more opportunities to show the character skating”.
He’s a fan of ’70s rock music and 4
