Grant Show has made a ca­reer out of play­ing good guys. Be­fore cur­rent role as nice-guy soap star Spence West­more in dram­edy De­vi­ous Maids (2013-cur­rent), he was love­able Jake Hanson on drama se­ries Mel­rose Place (1992-1997) and says Grant, “If you’re go­ing to be good, you’re go­ing to be very good. If you’re bad, you’re go­ing to be very, very bad. So I had to make a choice.”

The 54-year-old grad­u­ated with 1

a de­gree in the­atre arts from the Univer­sity Of Cal­i­for­nia Los An­ge­les in 1975. He was al­ready act­ing by then, play­ing cop Rick Hyde in soapie Ryan’s Hope (1975-1989). Grant was nom­i­nated for a Day­time Emmy in 1986 and 1987 for the role but didn’t win ei­ther. He re­turned to the US in 1988 af­ter a year of study­ing at the Lon­don Academy Of Mu­sic And Dra­matic Arts.

He mar­ried Scot­tish ac­tress Polly2

anna McIn­tosh (An­gel in crime se­ries Hap And Leonard, 2016-cur­rent) in 2004, a year af­ter they met dur­ing a pho­to­shoot. They di­vorced in 2011, cit­ing the stan­dard Hol­ly­wood rea­son of “ir­rec­on­cil­able dif­fer­ences”.

Grant got hitched again, in 2014 3

to ac­tress and former bal­le­rina Kather­ine LaNasa (Lizzie Am­brose in drama se­ries Longmire, 2012-cur­rent). They live in LA with their two-year-old daugh­ter Eloise McCue.

So what does he do be­tween 4

sea­sons of De­vi­ous Maids? Grant plays golf and goes fish­ing, as well as tak­ing his 1968 Ford Mus­tang con­vert­ible out – he’s had it since school.

He also owns a pub restau­rant in 5

LA called The Happy End­ing. It’s been open since 1997 and is fa­mous for themed party nights, karaoke par­ties and host­ing par­ties for sports events.
