“I see dead people”
David goes to a sangoma to get rid of Brenda’s ghost.
David turns to the supernatural world to solve his Brenda issue. Weekdays e.tv (*194) 19:00
With dodgy businessman Solomon (Seputla Sebogodi) out the way since Monday 15 August (when he was framed and thrown in jail, only to be broken out the next day and disappear), villainous David (Jamie Bartlett) is ready to seize control of Red Records music label. But there’s a problem: David used Solomon’s floozy Brenda (Lele Ledwaba) in his revenge plan and shot her dead on Friday 5 August… and now dead Brenda’s ghost is haunting David!
HELP FROM THE SPIRIT WORLD
Disturbed by what he’s seen, David turns to brothel madam Dolly (Linda Sebenzo) on Wednesday 17 August for help – after all, she was an accomplice in his plan to get rid of Solomon and she owes David her assistance. “Dolly suggests [sangoma] Sgegede (Mthandeni Mvelase) to help David with his problem,” explains Jamie. David hires him on Thursday 18 August and they have a meeting on Friday 19 August, where rituals are performed to exorcise Brenda’s ghost from David’s life [read more about soaps and the supernatural world on p8]. And it’s not going to cost David a cent because he pays the sangoma using Solomon’s watches that he stole. Will that come back to haunt David later? Maybe…
Right off the bat, it seems that Dolly was right when she sent David to Sgegede: not only is he not seeing Brenda’s ghost anymore, he’s got the supernatural world protecting him! David hits the casino on Tuesday 23 August to unwind and he wins big, which he takes as a good sign. “During the exorcism, Sgegede gave David power from Solomon,” says Jamie. “David’s powers grow stronger – he has inherited Solomon’s eye for business.” David’s ruthlessness and Solomon’s business savvy are a dangerous mix, but for now it seems that David is thriving.
RISE & FALL
“Power can be a very bad thing for David, but it’s something he’s wanted for so long,” warns Jamie. But despite his best attempts, it seems that David’s luck is about to change, and not in a way that he wants or needs…
