Season 1 Lifetime (*131) 20:00
Finding love has proven difficult for clothing designer Monet Bell, so she’s put her love life in the hands of reality show #BlackLove (2015-current). The series follows the romantic lives of Monet and four other black women in New York City and Monet can’t wait to find her Prince Charming…
This isn’t the first time that the 341
year-old’s turned to reality TV for relationship help. She was on Married At First Sight (2014-current) in 2014, where she met her husband Vaughn Copeland at the altar for the first time. They weren’t as much of a match as the show’s “relationship experts” had predicted and they divorced by the time the 13-episode season ended.
Monet learnt from the show and 2
says, “You want to talk about getting to know yourself? Put yourself in an intensive five-week crash course of marriage. You don’t even know the things that you didn’t know about yourself until you get married!”
She wants to be a mom and she’s 3
freezing her eggs until she meets her Mr Right, adding that her decision “has alleviated so much stress on me”.
Monet’s also done eating junk4
food [which she and Vaughn did all the time] and she’s teaching herself to cook. If you want to see what she’s whipped up, she posts snaps to her instagram account @monetbell.
She’s also developing active wear 5
(because she’s obsessed with gymming) and Monet is targeting the famed Home Network Channel to sell it.
Monet believes in giving back to 6
the community and she’s a mentor in The Brotherhood/Sister Sol support group for troubled youths. She helps at her local Harlem branch with physical and educational activities.
