POETRY IN MOTION

TV Plus (South Africa) - - YOUASK -

Hi tvplus. Can you help me with the poem that Jama read for Ayanda from Skeem Saam on her birthday? – ALBERT MUSARA, VIA EMAIL We sure can, Albert! When Ayanda and Jama (Pretty Ncayiyana and Oros Mampofu) were just starting to get serious, before his death in July, Jama wrote this poem that he recited for her on Wednesday 25 May: “Did I know you in a past life? Was I your husband in another realm? Because this pull I feel towards you is ancient. Beyond this present time. I know you. Maybe you went by other names, but I know you. Even if you were on the other side of the world, I would find you. My love for you does not end or begin. You make me laugh, you lift my sadness, and I am making it my life’s mission to make you happy. I love you.” NB! See more on p19.

Jama knows how to romance a girl: with a lovey-dovey poem.
