Widows at war
Wherever schemer Khomotjo goes, trouble is sure to follow.
Khomotjo has a trick or two up her sleeve and she’s going to use them to get Lerumo’s fortune. Weekdays SABC2 (*192) 21:00
The claws are out in the Mojalefa mansion as the late Lerumo’s (John Morapama) ex-wife Khomotjo (Rami Chuene) and his new wife Serithi (Molabane Mbatha) fight for their share of his estate on Wednesday 31 August. Expect chaos, secrets, lies and drama as neither is prepared to back down from their clash for Lerumo’s cash.
NO MONEY, HONEY!
Khomotjo’s timing is impeccable and she is certain that she can grab her dead ex’s fortune and waltz out of town – and she has ammo for her feud with widow Serithi. “When Khomotjo and Lerumo divorced [in 2014], they made an agreement that whoever dies first’s money will go to the other,” explains Rami. “The money includes business shares in the Mojalefa-owned supermarket, major construction business MMC, a house, cars and various policies.” On Friday 2 September, the two women discuss Lerumo’s will and notice that money’s also been bequeathed to Lerumo and the late Moriti’s (Molobane Mbatha) children Morapedi and Mangwashe (Rantebeng Makapan and Tumi Malefo). “This widow lady is an opportunist,” says Rami, referring to her rival Serithi, “because technically she wasn’t a wife [for long enough to deserve his fortune], nor did she earn her dues. Serithi is greedy and clearly she married Lerumo for convenience.”
THE OTHER HEIR
And Rami makes it clear that her character isn’t backing down from a fight on Monday 5 September. “Khomotjo tells Serithi, ‘Thank you, sweetie, for Dead Lerumo’s wealth is on the line.
keeping my seat warm, but now that I’m back, please leave’. Khomotjo plays nice with Serithi but draws the line. If the b***h doesn’t back down, somebody will get hurt!”
But Serithi isn’t about to let her rival walk all over her on and on Tuesday 6 September she talks about the money going to ‘ the new son’ of the Mojalefa family. “Serithi knows that Lerumo had an affair with Morapedi’s slutty girlfriend Carol (Phuti Khomo) and that Carol gave birth to Khutjo – a son who is entitled to some of Lerumo’s wealth,” Rami explains. “Khomotjo isn’t having any of it and insists that Carol’s brat isn’t entitled to anything.” Ready to play hardball, Serithi tries to make Khomotjo feel unwelcome in the Mojalefa house on Friday 9 Sep- Lerumo’s kids Morapedi and Mangwashe are caught between the warring wives.
