Dating shows are getting an athletic jumpstart with Catching Kelce (2016current) from Travis Kelce. The 27-yearold professional American Football star is lacing up his trainers and getting ready to tackle 50 beautiful ladies who are looking for their prince charming – but will Travis be able to score a touchdown in the love department?

“I’m as nervous as they are,” says 1

Travis, who admits that “playing in front of 50 000 screaming NFL fans is nowhere near as scary as this!”

He got his nickname “Skidmarks” 2

in college for his diving style of play, which would leave his white pants covered in grass stains.

Keeping with the stop-start style 3

of the NFL, Travis gave the ladies just 60 seconds to impress him in episode 1 on 19 October, which he adds “was a good laugh. The one girl was doing lunges and frog-hop squats as she walked across the field to me”.

Travis has a bad-boy streak and he 4

has been suspended and fined in the past. In 2014 he was fined $12 000 (R170 000) for a lewd hand gesture to an opposing team’s coach.

The life of a professional athlete is 5

always on the go thanks to tours, out-of-town matches and even being traded, but it seems that Travis is happy in Kansas. He’s played for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013 and in January this year he signed a five-year contract extension that guarantees him $46 million (R631 million) salary until 2020.

The one thing that Travis still isn’t 6

used to is cameras following him around off the field. “It’s strange when you’re on a date and someone else is inches from your face with a camera when you’re kissing!” he laughs.
