Five friends from ’90s Bri­tish drama Cold Feet (1997-cur­rent) re­turn 13 years after sea­son 5 ended in 2003 with Adam’s (James Nes­bitt) wife Rachel (He­len Bax­en­dale) dy­ing in a car crash and the pals go­ing their sep­a­rate ways. The drama’s not over, as orig­i­nal writer Mike Bullen says: “This re-com­mis­sion con­firms that we didn’t mess it [the sea­son 5 fi­nale] up.” Here’s what lies ahead in the next eight episodes, set 13 years later…

Wid­ower Adam is back from Sing1

apore in episode 1 (9 Novem­ber) with good news, but no one’s happy about his new fi­ancée, who’s 18 years younger than Adam.

Episode 1 also re­veals that Adam 2

and Rachel’s son Matthew (Ceal­lach Spell­man) hasn’t been cop­ing since Rachel’s death and he rebels against Adam’s news by abus­ing drugs. Mean­while, Adam’s child­hood friend Pete (John Thom­son) is un­em­ployed and fac­ing a mid-life cri­sis.

Pete isn’t the only one with­out a 3

job – his con­sul­tant friend David (Robert Bathurst) is sus­pended from work in episode 3 (23 Novem­ber) on (false) fraud charges.

Worse news is on the way for 4

David in episode 4 (30 Novem­ber) when his wife Robyn (Lucy Robin­son) wants a di­vorce. David is left with no home and no money, so he’s forced to rely on his twin teen daugh­ters and exwife Karen (Hermione Nor­ris) for help. David wor­ries though that he’s mak­ing life tough for Karen and her new lover.

In episode 6 (14 De­cem­ber), Jenny 5

(Fay Ri­p­ley) is shocked when one of her exes shows up beg­ging for for­give­ness and to see his daugh­ter Chloe (Madeleine Ed­mond­son). Jenny de­cides not to tell Chloe that Pete isn’t her real dad but the se­cret slips out.
