Season 2 Vuzu AMP (*103) 20:30 Action

Being cast in action-packed spy thriller Quantico (2015-current) was a double blessing for Lebanese-born Yasmine al Massri. Not only did she have a job after her pirate show Crossbones (2014) was axed, she was given a challenge: playing conflicted Muslim FBI graduate twins Nimah and Raina Amin.

1 “People love the twins,” says the

38-year-old. “They can’t believe that I play both; one religious and veiled and quiet, the other… not so much.”

2 She left Lebanon in 2000 to study

acting and live performance at the L’Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris. After graduating in 2007, she joined the Souraya Baghdadi dance troupe and started acting that same year.

3 Yasmine has been married to her

actor hubby Michael Desante since 2011 and even got him a small role on Crossbones. “It was the least I could do for uprooting our lives in Jordan and moving us [they have a four-year-old son named Liam] to Puerto Rico overnight for filming,” she laughs.

4 The toughest part of Quantico

isn’t learning two sets of lines and having two characters. It’s pull-ups for the physical exercise scenes – the actress stands on a box that’s just out of shot to make it look like she can do pull-ups.

5 Yasmine became a US citizen

earlier this year and has no issue revealing who she voted for in the recent US presidential election. “Hillary Clinton. I don’t feel that Donald Trump can relate to women… or even human beings. I don’t hate people who vote for him. I just won’t.”

6 And while she gets along with

all her co-stars, Yasmine says that series lead “Priyanka [Chopra – who plays Alex Parrish] and I are like sisters. She’s just slightly prettier”.
