What do you think Jody’s up to? He’s misunderstood and careless. He has a plan up his sleeve, but it all comes from a very bitter place. He resents Barker for not being in his life while growing up. Are you anything like Jody? Well we both like to party, but that’s it. I’d like to think that we’re both ambitious but I’m not arrogant like he is. Tell us about your background as an actor. Acting runs in my family – my dad is Ashley Dowds (Andrew McBain from 2005 to 2008 on Scandal!, 2005-current) and my mom Antoinette is a qualified drama teacher. My older brother Connor is also an actor – he was in 2007 adventure movie Prey. So did you feel any pressure to follow in the family profession? Absolutely not. I love what I do and I took an interest in theatre shows when I was still at school. My family have been supportive and they’ve taught me how to treat it [acting] as a business. Acting is a lot of hard work and I’m hoping to grow and make something out of it. We hear that you’re also a musician… My friend and I have a band called Mullen Avenue and we’ll be working on new material when he gets back from his holiday. We’re still finding a market that enjoys our sound – it’s a cross between [rock band] Red Hot Chili Peppers and [indie pop duo] 21 Pilots. NB! See more on p24.
