Season 6 M-Net (*101) 20:30 Drama
The gavel is falling on season 6 of legal drama show Suits (2011-current) when the season’s final arguments are heard. While details are locked away secretly, we do know that episode 16 tonight is called “Character & Fitness” and those are steps in the US legal system that must be conducted before someone’s admitted to the bar (law society). And it looks like it’s going to be troublemaking Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) who’s trying to go legit in law.
However, the show may have to act fast because viewership has sagged even more – only 1.92 million tuned in for the mid-season finale in September 2016, compared to 3.47 million in the first season. Rumour has it they could be pulling a quickie like fantasy show Game Of Thrones (2011-current) and have a shortened season 7 (only seven episodes if gossip is to be believed) and a final eighth season. And it’s entirely possible, hints series creator Aaron Korsh: “I don’t know how close we are to the end, but we’re very likely closer to it than that we are to the beginning”.
Season 7 started filming late in December 2016 and so far everyone’s back on set – hotshot lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), Mike, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) and Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty). Fans could be seeing less of Rachel though – Meghan’s not only busy with her ambassador role at the World Vision charity, she’s also dating British royal Prince Harry!
Something fans can look forward to is a visit from Harvey’s ex-boss Jessica (Gina Torres), as well a possible onscreen romance for Harvey and super secretary Donna. They’ve been teasing a hidden, pre-existing relationship since day 1 and with the show ending (soon), this may be the time to set things straight.
The end is in sight for Mike (left) and Harvey.
