Season 1 Vuzu (*116) 21:00 & 22:00 Horror “You don’t belong here, leave now. The longer you stay, the worse it’ll be. You have no idea what this place is…” The place is Camp Stillwater and it’s the setting for single-season supernatural horror series Dead Of Summer (2016). Why should you tune in for 10 episodes? For starters, it’s got a super creepy setting: it takes place in the summer of 1989 and new camp director Debra (Elizabeth Mitchell) has hired ex Stillwater campers as her new councillors to help revive the camp five years after it closed in 1984. And that’s where the scary stuff starts…

The councillors are each hiding tragic secrets from their pasts, including notso-fond memories of their time at Stillwater. Turns out the campgrounds are haunted by a spirit from 1871 and a group are also trying to raise a demon to give them eternal life. It’s not long before the councillors are fighting for their lives against forces they can’t see. So what? That’s been done long ago in sci-fi fantasy show SuperNatural (2005-current). Dead Of Summer is different because it’s darker (you won’t see the threats coming until heads are falling) and you’re not sure who is going to die and why. And they’re shockers.

Thing is, there’s loads of teeny, angsty drama and viewers who want out-and-out horror will get bored. However, if you’re a fan of The Vampire Diaries (2009-current) and its spin-off The Originals (2013-current), you’ll be right at home at Camp Stillwater…

Terror’s in store for camp councillor Amy (Elizabeth Lail) and camp director Debra (Elizabeth Mitchell).
