“She’s got a heart but she loves swimming with sharks,” laughs Maggie Siff. “And playing [psychiatrist] Wendy [in drama series Billions, 2016-current] is no small task. I had to research everything from hedge funds to S&M.” It’s not the first time the 42-year-old New Yorker’s had a rough-’n-tough TV role either…

She had to throw punches, shoot 1

guns and swing irons in drama series Sons Of Anarchy (2008-2014) as Dr Tara Knowles. “Do you know how hard a laundry iron hits? Hard!” she recalls.

Maggie can take care of herself 2

though. She grew up in the tough New York borough The Bronx and jokes, “It gave me a thick skin, especially with guys. Maybe that is why I can handle Paul and Damian [Giamatti and Lewis, her Billions co-stars].”

Who’s her favourite between Paul 3

(as her States Attorney husband Chuck) or Damian (as her financial guru ex-boss Bobby)? “Damian is precise and Paul is like a bull in a china shop. They’re so different but like a perfect storm.”

She “discovered” her singing voice 4

in 1997 while studying theatre at the Tisch School Of The Arts in New York and sang on the Sons Of Anarchy season 6 soundtrack in 2013.

Maggie hasn’t always been into TV 5

acting though and her first movie role came in 2007. “I’m more established now and while my career is bigger, my schedule isn’t nearly as full as in my 20s. I put that down to my family,” she says.

She’s been married to design con6

sultant Paul Ratliff since 2012 and they have three-year-old daughter Lucy. Maggie jokes that “the best thing about being pregnant was eating all the ice cream I could get and no one could say anything about my belly”.
