Y&R (1973-current) fans enjoyed cast interviews about their favourite scenes in each episode over the past week and now it’s must-watch time as the soapie celebrates episode #11 000 on Thursday 11 May. Commenting on Y&R’s beginnings, new exec producer Mal Young reveals, “It was called The Innocent Years originally. They realised with what was going on in the world, the name didn’t really work”. Too right! Young & Restless is all about the drama! Like these big moments in #11 000… Neil Winters (Kristoff St John) reunites with his estranged mom Lucinda (Nichelle Nichols, Uhura in Star Trek, 19661969), who reveals why she abandoned him, gives him closure and reason to cry. The Newmans – Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victor (Eric Braeden) – unite to protect Adam (Justin Harley) from the manhunt. Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) visits his BFF Kevin (Greg Rikaart) for a heart-to-heart before leaving town. Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) tranquillises Adam and gloats about helping Victor frame him. She then either kills him in a cabin explosion or fakes his death! Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine’s (Lauralee Bell) dinner at the club is paid for by an anonymous diner (Y&R creator Lee Phillip Bell, Lauralee’s real-life mother) because they remind her of herself and her late husband!
