Brick and his family return for mischief in The Middle.
The Middle Season 8 Tuesdays (from 23 May) M-Net (*101) 18:00
The Hecks are adding more chaos to our TV screens with season 8 of family-themed sitcom The Middle (2009- current). And as always, the siblings are pushing their parents’ buttons, like… 1 In episode 2 (30 May), good-two shoes daughter Sue (Eden Sher) is kicked out of college for not paying her fees. Luckily dad Mike (Neil Flynn) comes to her rescue, but he’s going to be mumbling in his beard while selling his valuable company shares for Sue. 2 Axl’s (Charlie McDermott) hormones are out of control, also from episode 2, and he borrows the
family motorhome to visit his ditsy new girlfriend April (Greer Grammer). But just wait until episode 9 (18 July) when Axl has a not-so-little announcement for the Hecks, who don’t like April…
And just because he’s the youn3
gest doesn’t mean that Brick (Atticus Shaffer) is any less of a man than Mike and Axl – now that he’s in high school, he’s suddenly Mr Popular with a girlfriend to boot from episode 12 (8 August). But quirky Cindy (Casey Burke) prefers her men booksmart and demands that Brick re-nerdify himself.
Mama Frankie (Patricia Heaton) 4
and Mike lose their patience with each other in episode 14 (22 August) when their basement floods. Besides the hilarious back-and-forth sniping, their kids lead an intervention that while sweet, is equally funny.
And Frankie goes into super5
nosy-annoying-mom mode in episode 18 (19 September) when her “little girl” Sue hides her secret crush. If only Frankie was your usual embarrassing parent. Sorry for you, Sue.
The Hecks (from left): Frankie, Axl, Brick, Sue and Mike.
