Wolves gone wild
Teen Wolf is sinking its teeth into free-TV with a supersized third season on SABC2.
Teen Wolf Season 3 Mondays (from 29 May) SABC2 (*192) 23:00
Werewolf Scott (Tyler Posey) and his friends on Teen Wolf (20112017) will have an especially tough time in season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 had 12 episodes, while this one has 24. “It’s broken into 3A and 3B in which we tell different stories,” explains series creator Jeff Davis. “It’s a first for us but it gives enough room to introduce a number of characters.” And it’s not just super-strong Alphas (pack leaders) that the teen wolves have to deal with – they’re facing off against creatures from mythology!
AN ALPHA TALE
The first part of the season deals with a super pack of Alphas who come to Beacon Hills to kill Scott because he’s a magical Alpha werewolf. “In their hunt for Scott and trying to convert him for their pack, they kill off most of the werewolves that were made in
season 2,” says Tyler. Scott and his pal Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O’Brien) learn that their new teacher Jennifer Blake (Haley Webb) is The Darach, a monster responsible for a string of ritualistic murders. She won’t be easy to take down, but that’s why Scott’s brought in re-inforcements. Say hello to twin wolves Ethan and Aiden (Charlie and Max Carver, Porter and Preston in Desperate Housewives, 2004-2012) who have a party trick: they can morph into one big, mean mega werewolf!
The second half of the season isn’t going to be fun for goofy Stiles. He turns scary from episode 13 (21 August) when he’s possessed by ancient Japanese spirit The Nogitsune. Scott teams up with newcomer student Kira Yukimura (Arden Cho) and her mom Noshiko (Tamlyn Tomita) who summon demon ninjas called The Onis. But someone important will die this season…
