TV Plus (South Africa) - - YOU ASK -

I don’t always know if it’s a blessing or a curse to work in our office. We are a rowdy bunch and love to see the humour in things – you have to, even in TV land or you’ll just get super depressed (we’ve all sat here crying watching our different shows). And some of our loudest debates will often be over how to classify stories. Is this series action or drama? Lifestyle or reality? Sci-fi or fantasy? Don’t forget that you get subcategories that we actually try to stay clear off, like dramedy, political satire, commentary, mockumentary… the list is endless. It just get too much, even for us! In this issue, we try to explain where we draw the line when it comes to genres and where you can look for your specific shows (see p9). One show that is a comedy but borderline mockumentary due to the filming is The Office (p36). I know it’s old but I can never get enough of those misfits. Somehow they make me feel less like a klutz. Don’t miss it!

The Office cast.
