Ring Of Lies Mon-Thu Mzansi Magic (*161) 19:00

There is as much drama out of the ring as there is in the ring in Mzansi Magic’s smash-hit telenovela Ring Of Lies (2016- current) that returns to the channel on Monday 31 July. The second season has new faces, new characters and new storylines while still following the Majola family’s story

WHERE WE LEFT OFF

Boxer Neo (Mpho Sebeng) prepared for his big fight against champion boxer Kabelo (Bohang Moeko) but his focus was on other things, particularly his lover and girlfriend Sli (Dineo Nchabeleng) who he now knows is not his stepsister despite what his mother Masindi (Florence Masebe) told him. Sli was pregnant with Neo’s child and chose to terminate the pregnancy as she was afraid that she and Neo were related. Sli then learnt the truth behind her birth and came to a horrifying realisation that her biological father and mother is still out there.

THROW DOWN

In the season 2, expect to see several new faces as well as a few familiar faces returning to the action, including:

Vusi Cele (Mangaliso Ngema) Sli’s on the hunt for her real parents and is delighted to meet with her biological father Vusi, who is actually a wealthy and self-made man and owns small taxi business. With his taxi-business funds, Vusi is able to kick start his music promotion and events company. Buzwe (Anga Makubalo) Through Vusi, Sli is introduced to Buzwe, a hotshot and charming R&B musician. He’s a smooth talker and a well-known womaniser who leaves Sli smitten. Not only is she head- over-heels for Buzwe, Sli is also working alongside him as his creative assistant. Thandeka Gumede (Linda Sebezo) But it isn’t all rainbows and sunshine for Sli because a ruthless nurse named Thandeka is blackmailing her adoptive father Mandla (Masoja Msiza). The nurse knows everything about the baby swap that occurred during Sli’s birth and she wants to be paid for her silence. Dumi Tau (Connie Chiume) Meanwhile, Kabelo learns of his own origins and about his biological mother Dumi. At the age of 16, Dumi fell pregnant and was forced to give-up her son. Despite the hardships Dumi faced, she is a humble and soft-spoken woman. Rendani Rambau (Fulu Mugovhani) This teen is going against her traditional family and community by training to be a female fighter and ultimately become a champion. However, Rendani must combat the customary values that are laid out for her, such as marrying the nobleman whom her father Chief Aluwani has handpicked for her. Gazini “Sqengqe” Buthelezi (Siyabonga Radebe) The big baddie in season 2 is Gaz, who’s all tough talk and brutal action. Gaz is a loner who grew up in a polygamous and an old-fashioned family but his arrogance gets in the way of his charming personality.
