Layla’s (Natasha Sutherland) inner mama bear started growling the moment she saw Yvonne (Kgomotso Christopher) cosy up to her son Quinton (Brighton Ngoma). “Layla has beef with Yvonne and she wants leverage. So when Layla spots Yvonne with a briefcase and it drops and Layla sees the money, she gets suspicious,” says Natasha. So when Dintle (Mapaseka Koetle) came to Layla to tattle on Yvonne on Wednesday 16 May, Layla set the little mischief maker to spy on Yvonne. But you know what they say: if you want something done right, do it yourself – as Layla does on Thursday 24 May. “You can’t miss an episode as there are so many twists and turns to this,” says Natasha gleefully. “It’s who is spying on who, and who knows who is spying on who… and who knows who knows who is spying on who!”

“I ask Dintle to spy for me, but I am not at all happy with the information. She is a useless spy. That inspires me to go to the lengths that Layla is prepared to go to,” explains Natasha. But what Layla ends up doing sets sparks flying between her, Dintle and Yvonne on Thursday 31 May. “I’d like to believe that I would never cross that line. Yvonne would do exactly the same thing – not that that’s a justification for breaking the law or invading someone’s privacy,” says Natasha. “It’s quite a bold step for Layla and I love the fact that they are pushing her into dark, murky territory, so she isn’t squeaky clean or sitting to one side where it’s safe.”

The confrontation is one of those special don’t-miss moments, with all three women in each other’s faces. “Yvonne’s energy is very like a street fighter, very fiery and edgy, while Layla is this very cool ice queen. And then there’s Dintle. It’s so brilliant of the writers to get these three highly complex women in a room together in a way where they are either going to kill each other or have to work together to sort something out,” says Natasha. Some shocking truths are coming out in this fight…
