Po­lice seek mur­der­ers of ed­i­tor

A SEARCH was on for the killers of Bona mag­a­zine ed­i­tor and Soweto TV chair­man Force Khashane, Soweto po­lice said yes­ter­day.

Cap­tain Phille­mon Khorombi said no ar­rests had been made fol­low­ing the Wed­nes­day night shoot­ing of Khashane at his home in Or­lando East.

Khashane, 60, hailed by his col­leagues as a “dig­ni­fied man” who con­trib­uted much to the me­dia in­dus­try, died at the Lesedi Clinic in Soweto.

The mo­tive for the shoot­ing is not known.

Cax­ton Mag­a­zines pub­lisher Denise Stamm said: “We are all heart­bro­ken about this sense­less death and will miss him dearly.”

Khashane leaves his wife, Palesa, son Khashane, 14, and daugh­ter Maphoko, 8. His fu­neral will be held next Satur­day. – Sapa
