Find smiles and fuzzy feelings with the Piplings of Nara

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - SPORT -

WAYBULOO is a programme that looks at how we feel about things and other people. It also looks at how we work together with others, and at friendship and fun.

It blends computer-generated animation with live action footage of children in the vast world of Nara – a land of happiness, laughter and friendship that’s home to the Piplings.

The four Piplings are happy, loving and caring creatures. They are inquisitive and playful. Yojojo is full of fun and loves surprises. Lau Lau is creative and loves to dance and paint. Nok Tok is happiest when he’s making things. De Li is caring and loves gardening.

The Piplings do Yogo, a gentle form of exercise a bit like yoga. The movements are often inspired by things the Piplings see in Nara, such as birds, trees and narabugs. They do four Yogo poses at the beginning of each programme, and when the Cheebies (children) come to Nara, the Piplings and Cheebies repeat the poses together. When a Pipling is truly happy, does something good or makes another feel better, they achieve Buloo – a warm, floating feeling. A hug or a helping hand results in a small moment of Buloo, but when children, Piplings and viewers co-operate, everyone achieves a shared moment of discovery or happiness. In each episode, six Cheebies help the Piplings explore new situations and how they feel about them. They learn to share, to respect each other and to get on with each other.

Waybuloo is on daily at 8.30am, 12.30pm, 4.30pm and 8.30pm from today on CBeebies, channel 306 on DStv.

BUNDLES OF JOY: Yojojo, Lau Lau, Nok Tok and De Li float on a cloud of Buloo after spreading happiness throughout their land.
