Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - AUCTIONS -

SITUATED on the Val de Vie Wine and Polo Estate, A&H Prestige, in association with PGA Property, will auction 296 Val de Vie Estate, Paarl, on site on Sunday, November 29, at 3pm.

Val de Vie is famous not only for its wines but for the premier polo estate in South Africa, which hosts international tests.

The estate is also famous for hosting luxurious weddings and celebrities.

The double-storey house will be sold as is, together with its imported fur niture and appliances. Located on a huge plot, the house has a living space of 660m that flows throughout.

Downstairs is a large selfcontained room with its own entrance and a fully equipped kitchen. The main kitchen is open plan with a separate scullery and walk-in pantry. It leads onto the dining room with views out onto the landscaped garden.

The living area, with sliding doors, leads out onto the outdoor covered patio overlooking the large pool and Jacuzzi with outdoor braai.

A double garage gives direct access to the house.

Upstairs there are five large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a separate study.

The estate is situated 40 minutes from Cape Town, and offers a fully-equipped gym, tennis and squash courts, a 25-metre heated indoor pool, two polo fields as well as stabling, paddocks and experienced staff. Golfing enthusi- asts have both the Jack Nicklaus Signature championship golf course at Pearl Valley and Boschenmeer Golf Course as neighbours.

The Polo Pavilion caters for family dining, with a cigar lounge, and visitors will be able to indulge their senses at a five-star boutique hotel featuring a fine-dining restaurant, plans for which are well under way. The estate features 1.8km of Berg River frontage with fresh mountain water feeding the lakes and vineyards and attracting an abundance of wildlife.

Established in the heart of this area, the estate lies on land that produced its first wine in 1825.

The historical manor house has been caringly restored with the centuries-old oak trees still standing guard.

Viewing is on Sundays November 8 and 22 from 3pm to 5pm, Thursdays November 12, 19 and 26 from 11am to noon and one hour prior to auction.
