Mad­off’s com­puter boffs ar­rested

NEW YORK: Two for­mer em­ploy­ees for Bernard Mad­off pro­grammed an old IBM com­puter to gen­er­ate false records that con­cealed his mas­sive Ponzi scheme and were given hush money, fed­eral pros­e­cu­tors said yes­ter­day. Mad­off paid them “what­ever they wanted to keep them happy,” the crim­i­nal com­plaint said. The pro­gram­mers were ar­rested yes­ter­day. They face con­spir­acy, fal­si­fy­ing records and other charges.
