Big Three beckons Brown
AARON BROWN will be hoping to become the first person to complete a collection of victories in South Africa’s three biggest cycle races in one season at the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge in Johannesburg tomorrow.
Brown, who has been the focal point of Team Medscheme’s very successful inaugural season, won the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour in March and the MTN Amashova last month. Victory tomorrow would round off what has already been a sensational season for him. It will also keep Brown ahead of Team Neotel’s Nolan Hoffman in the Alphapharm Series, a season-long competition to determine South Africa’s most consistently successful cyclist.
The Argus is regarded as the be-all and end-all in SA cycling and Brown’s victory came as a surprise for the 23year-old as he held off Barloworld’s Rob Hunter, who had won the race for the previous two years.
