PAC gathering ruled unofficial
A GATHERING organised by a faction of the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) could take place but could not be called a “third PAC national convention”, Cape High Court Judge Dennis Davis ruled yesterday.
He said that he could not stop a group of people from meeting and discussing issues, but that the PAC constitution made no provision for a national convention.
His ruling followed an urgent application by the PAC to bar the faction from calling the meeting the “third PAC national convention”. The faction had announced that the convention would take place in Cape Town this weekend.
