House­keeper of top lawyer charged

LON­DON: The for­mer house­keeper to the Bri­tish gov­ern­ment’s chief le­gal ad­viser was charged yes­ter­day with fraud, im­mi­gra­tion of­fences and hav­ing a false pass­port.

Ton­gan Otolose Loloahi Ta­pui, who worked for At­tor­ney-Gen­eral Pa­tri­cia Scot­land, will ap­pear in court on De­cem­ber 7.

Scot­land was fined £5 000 (R60 000) in Septem­ber for em­ploy­ing an il­le­gal im­mi­grant and faced op­po­si­tion calls to re­sign.
