Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - PEOPLE -

Miss Lyn spokesperson MISS Lyn is a specialist retailer and manufacturer of export-quality linen and associated décor items for home and hospitality establishments.

“We prefer to focus on our core linen market in order to bring our customers the highest-luxury items and the most affordable prices,” says Lyn.

Upon visiting Miss Lyn, you will be offered exclusive, one-on-one service designed to assist in the decision on which duvet will best suit your needs, based on your personal experiences.

“With our years of experience in the market, we believe that a massive range of duvets will provide our valued customers with a confident shopping experience.”

Miss Lyn offers two broad ranges of linen and décor – one exquisitely designed for homes, and the other tailored to guest houses.

“Our home-decorating clients demand something special and original for their rooms, whereas our guest-house shoppers are looking for understated luxury at the best possible price,” states Lyn.

“At Miss Lyn, our customers can benefit from the best of both worlds, and highly competitive prices.”

Summer duvets

The most popular duvet for summer is the cotton version. Filled with polyester-free raw cotton and encased in pure cotton percale, this duvet has the highest breathability rating.

With its box-stitched design which avoids clumping and hollow spots, these cotton duvets ensure a comfortable summer night’s sleep. The cotton duvet is available in both light and medium weight versions, ideal for your specific needs. Like the cotton duvet, the exotic Eastern version of this summer duvet is filled with silk. With its highly regarded medicinal properties, the structure of silk is extraordinarily resilient and gentle on the skin.

In addition to these benefits, it is naturally hypoallergenic and a repellent of mildew, mould and dust mites. For those consumers wanting something a little warmer in summer, but not as warm as winter duvets, such as duck down, a wool-filled duvet is ideal.

Wool is renowned for its ability to change its insulation ability given external temperatures.

Also non-allergenic and highly breathable, wool is an exceptional choice in summer.

In addition to its all-year duck down duvets, Miss Lyn has two varieties which are best suited to summer. Filled mainly with half and three-quarter down, they provide less insulation which is ideal in summer. As an all-natural product, it has an exceptionally high breathability rating.

Various ratios of duck down are available, from 5% through to 90% fine down, with the remainder of the mix consisting of half and three-quarter down and small feathers.

‘All seasons’ duvets

In addition to the duck down duvets, Miss Lyn has two variations of “all seasons” duvets available at highly competitive prices.

The advantage of buying an “all seasons” duvet is that it can be used in all temperatures. The package consists of a lightweight summer duvet and a higher weight duvet for autumn and spring.

Each duvet has small heavy-duty press studs attached in order to easily clip the duvets together to obtain the perfect duvet for winter.

As always, Miss Lyn has a large alternative range of synthetic and natural duvets, from hollow-and micro-fibre to exotic fillings, such as silk, cotton and wool.

While synthetic duvets are inexpensive , machine washable and designed for all-year use, the cotton and wool duvets are lightweight while remaining warm enough for winter.

Miss Lyn also boasts a massive selection of pure cotton linen. Of special interest is Miss Lyn’s pillow protectors. At only R29 each, they are ideal for any home or guest house wanting to extend the life of old pillows.

“We sell about 6 000 units a month and can, therefore, afford to keep this price well into the future,” boasts Lyn. “We originally started supplying them to one of our larger retail clients. Once we realised how well they sold, we decided to sell them ourselves in addition to supplying our client,” says Lyn.

Miss Lyn is not only about quality bed linens. The company also supplies pure cotton towels and bathmats in a wide variety of colours.

Cushions and curtains are two other major lines. Of significant interest to readers is that Miss Lyn now supplies micro-fibre duvets as an innovation to the fibre-puff duvet.

In addition to the vast array of luxurious and exclusive linen, Miss Lyn also boasts an easy shopping experience. Visitors can park in a fenced and secure parking lot, with direct access to the new street-level shop.

The special offers advertised on this page are available only at Miss Lyn, located on the corner of Railway and Albert roads in Salt River.
