Retirement village a gem in Northern Cape
DESERT Vineyard, a new Northern Cape retirement village in the town of Keimoes, 40km from Upington, is being marketed by Seeff Properties.
The Desert Vineyard Retirement Village offers 84 full-title plots plus 16 sectional title bachelor units. The cottage-style one-, two-and threebedroom houses have wide roof overhangs and verandas for outdoor entertaining.

Prices include transfer costs and VAT and in phase one range from R499 000 for a 84.77m² one-bedroom house to R649 000 for a 95.87m² twobedroom house, and R749 000 for a 104.15m² three-bedroom house.

The development’s third phase’s prices range from R649 000 for a twobedroom house and R749 000 for a three-bedroom house.
Although there are no age restrictions for buyers, residents must be 50 years plus.
“Many tourists travel through Keimoes en route to the spectacular Augrabies Falls National Park, to see the yearly flower splendour of Namaqualand, the arid beauty of the Richtersveld National Park and West Coast. Keimoes forms part of the Kai!Garib Municipality with a population of 55 501, which also includes the towns of Kakamas and Kenhardt,” Liebenberg says.
The closest town is Upington, on the banks of the Orange River.
Since its establishment in 1870, the town has expanded rapidly and is now the commercial, agricultural and educational centre of the Gordonia district.
T he town has a newly built provincial hospital, and a private hospital with extensive medical and health care services.
Upington is linked to all major cities in South Africa by air, rail and road – 836km from Johannesburg, 985km from Pretoria, 834km from Cape Town and 628km from Bloemfontein.
