Jackson’s moonwalk glove sells for R2.6m

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - AUCTIONS -

THE WHITE glove Michael Jackson wore when he premiered his moonwalk dance in 1983 has been auctioned for $350 000 (R2.63 million).

It was the top item in a collection of Jackson memorabilia on the block at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, New York, last weekend. The pre-auction estimate was $60 000 and, as the price soared, fans roared and squealed.

A jacket Jackson wore on his 1989 Bad tour fetched $225 000, 20 times its estimate. – Belfast Telegraph
