Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - NEWS -

THE SABC was hoping to know by late last night whether it would broadcast the Africa Cup of Nations tournament which starts in Angola tomorrow, the state broadcaster said.

Spokesman Kaizer Kganyago said the SABC had sent a team of negotiators to France in a bid to find permission from SportFive – the rights agent for the Confederation of African Football – to broadcast the tournament.

“At the moment we have our people negotiating with SportFive... We are hoping to get feedback by tonight,” said Kganyago. The SABC, he said was ready to broadcast the event as it started preparing for it a year ago. – Sapa
