Insurance is a must for building industry

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - PROPERTY -

FOR MEMBERS of the construction industry, their tools and vehicles are their bread and butter. If these are damaged or stolen, it could affect productivity and income.

That’s why the Master Builders Association of the Western Cape (MBAWC), a registered trade association for employers in the building industry, has launched a short-term insurance initiative for members.

MBAWC executive director Rob Johnson says the insurance scheme was designed in partnership with RBS Insurance and Risk Services.

“A team of RBS brokers provide members with a professional service and operates out of the MBAWC offices in Rondebosch. By determining individual members’ corporate and personal needs, the company can ensure the best available cover for them at the most affordable premiums.”

The scheme provides cover for several eventualities that might arise during construction contract work and caters for a range of indemnity requirements.

Products incorporated into the scheme include contractors’ all risks; public liability; lateral support; professional indemnity; and project delay.

Members are offered reduced premiums, optimal quality of cover and a loyalty rewards programme for relatives and employees.
