Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - PROPERTY -

IT IS STILL possible to buy into The Majestic.

Only 13 units of the total 73 remain to be sold in The Majestic development at Kalk Bay.

Ed Kok of Anne Porter Knight Frank, who is one of the agents handling the sales, says the project is a skillful redevelopment of the his- toric Majestic Hotel, which overlooks Kalk Bay harbour. To this have been added about 9 000m² space in nine new blocks, all contained within award-winning gardens in a secure environment.

The apartments and townhouses on offer vary in size from 125m² to 330m², all of which have single or double garages. Prices range from R3.95 million to R10.5m.

Finishes include gas fireplaces and kitchen hobs, the original flooring and cobbled and brick paved driveways.

Lanice Steward, managing director of Anne Porter Knight Frank, says in the past five years Kalk Bay has become more popular and property values have risen, so it is now one of the Cape’s “in” precincts, with a flourishing night life.

“The Majestic redevelopment was a major catalyst, but it was also helped by the new restaurants, brica-brac and antique shops, and bookshops,” says Steward.
