HRC quashes St Stithi­ans gen­der is­sue ap­peal

THE HU­MAN Rights Com­mis­sion (HRC) has quashed an ap­peal by St Stithi­ans against its find­ings that the top Joburg school is guilty of gen­der dis­crim­i­na­tion by not giv­ing its girl pupils the same recog­ni­tion for their achieve­ments as its boy pupils. School spokes­woman Me­gan van der Poll said the school was study­ing the HRC’s find­ings: “We only heard about it this week and are presently tak­ing it un­der ad­vise­ment. We need to re­view the find­ings and look at what the next step is.”– Staff Re­porter
