My peers dropped me, says lawyer Nthai

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - NEWS -

SETH NTHAI, SC, has lashed out at the General Council of the Bar, the Johannesburg Bar Council and the Pretoria Bar Council for allegedly breaking agreements with him.

On Thursday several newspapers reported that Nthai had been suspended pending a probe by the State Attorney into his conduct and fees after allegations that he grossly overcharged the State for cases he had done on its behalf.

Nthai’s spokesman, Abbey Makoe, complained that Nthai’s comments submitted for general release had been ignored.

As a result, the statement was biased against him. He had decided not to practise until the investigation was complete, in keeping with the ethics governing advocates. – Staff Reporter
