Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - GOODHANGOUTS -

Stanlib Multi-Manager won the Raging Bull Award for the Offshore Management Company of the Year after scoring the highest average PlexCrown rating for its two offshore funds that are registered with the Financial Services Board (FSB) in South Africa.

Kent Grobbelaar, the company’s London-based fund manager, chooses a range of global managers to manage a global bond fund, which achieved an above-average rating of four PlexCrowns, and a global equity fund, which received an average three-PlexCrown rating.

Investec, which has a much broader range of 19 offshore funds available in South Africa, was second on average PlexCrown ratings.

The company achieved a second position among its peers for managing asset allocation funds, and was joint first for the management of United States equity funds.

Ashburton, with 22 FSBregistered offshore funds, was rated third due to a first position in global asset allocation.

Ashburton also did well in the European equity and US equity categories, where it achieved a first position and a joint-first position.

PlexCrown Fund Ratings says other investment houses that deserve a mention are: Aviva, top of the United Kingdom equity category; Invesco, best in the Japan equity category; Orbis, first in the global equity and Far East equity categories; and TriAlpha, top of the global fixedinterest charts. – Laura du Preez
