Two Century City luxury penthouses worth R8.2m each snapped up
TWO LUXURY p e nt houses wit h individual price tags of R8.2m are among 28 flats snapped up by buyers over the festive season in the Crystal Towers development at Century City.
Crystal Towers Residences forms part of the R750m mixed-use development which includes the 180room five-star Crystal Towers Hotel and Spa, offices, conference and meeting facilities, a state-of-the art day spa, restaurants, 24-hour deli and an internal street linking the flats and hotel towers.
The hotel, which is part of the African Pride Collection, opened in December last year with the rest of the development, including the flats, which are due for completion in April.
The total value of flats sold in the nine-storey residential tower block exceeds R80m and a further seven sales are pending, which will take the value of sales to over R100m, says sales director Allen Usher.
“This is an exceptional performance at the moment, particularly as we opted for a soft launch and have not yet started a major marketing campaign. Many of the sales have been to buyers who were visiting or staying at the hotel and were impressed by the design and quality of t he building and t he f ive-s t ar lifestyle it offers,” says Usher.
The 91 luxury flats range from studios designed for corporates and business travellers to larger flats for owner occupiers. Flats are priced from R1.5m to over R10m for the luxury duplex penthouses.
He says the sale of the two R8.2m penthouse flats had set a new benchmark at Century City. The previous record for a residential property at Century City was R5.2m, which was for a penthouse flat in KnightsBridge.
