Portugal hero honoured in wax
LONDON: Madame Tussauds in London unveiled a waxwork of Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo to coincide with the start of the World Cup.
The waxwork depicts the world’s most expensive player wearing the new Portugal strip as he strikes his distinc- tive pre-free kick pose.
The museum said the figure took four months to create and cost around £150 000 pounds (R1.7 million).
“We have been overwhelmed with public requests to feature Cristiano Ronaldo,” a spokesman said.
