Feel free – get into the Spirit of Christmas

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - JELLYBEAN JOURNAL - JBJ REPORTER

IF YOU WANT to feel really Christmassy next week, join Alvon Collison and 50 other performers in their nativity play The Spirit of Christmas at the city hall next week.

The show is free, because Alvon believes that we all need to get together and strengthen our bonds as Capetonians.

The performers, who include children and adults, have been practising for many weeks to make this a special occasion.

Alvon will be the narrator, and Colleen Meje will play Mary. Faried Swartz is Joseph, and other guest performers will be wise men, shepherds, villagers, emperors, lambs and even rats.

Alvon says: “So bring your whole family including your neighbours, your friend’s second cousins, your auntie’s boyfriend’s mother, and her sister, and come and enjoy The Spirit of Christmas. There are free tickets for everyone.”

Alvon said a big thank-you to the city of Cape Town for allowing him to use the City Hall free. The shows will take place at 6.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday (December 22 and 23).
