Link Art Com­pany, In­side Group and chefs Craig Cormack and Ber­tus Bas­son have signed up with 60 lay­ers of cake. The agency is also de­vel­op­ing an ipad ap­pli­ca­tion for Link Art Com­pany. This Dutch-based con­sul­tancy serves as an art ad­viser in Hol­land, Bel­gium and France and boasts an im­pres­sive art col­lec­tion of nearly 9 000 pieces.

The African Sun ad­ver­tis­ing con­tract has once again been re­newed with Schar­rer Ad­ver­tis­ing, which has han­dled the ac­count for four years. African Sun man­ages ho­tels in Zim­babwe, Botswana, Ghana and Nige­ria. These ho­tels in­clude The Vic­to­ria Falls Ho­tel, Crowne Plaza in Harare, Ele­phant Hills at Vic­to­ria Falls, The King­dom at Vic­to­ria Falls, Hwange Sa­fari Lodge, Trout­beck Inn, re­sorts on Lake Kariba, Obudu Moun­tain Re­sort – the premier re­sort in Nige­ria – and Hol­i­day Inn ho­tels in var­i­ous cities in­clud­ing the new Hol­i­day Inn Ho­tel open­ing in Gaborone, Botswana. Schar­rer Ad­ver­tis­ing’s work has in­volved cre­at­ing the lo­gos, CIS, brand man­u­als and col­lat­eral for the ho­tels, cor­po­rate brochures and lit­er­a­ture.

An­thony Swart has been ap­pointed as man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Point. He brings to the com­pany 18 years of brand con­sult­ing and de­sign ex­pe­ri­ence, and six years in the re­tail in­dus­try. Hav­ing spent al­most two decades at The Brand Union in Jo­han­nes­burg, eight years as chief ex­ec­u­tive, Swart has im­mense man­age­ment ex­pe­ri­ence and aims to con­tinue the growth of Point in South Africa, as well as look­ing for ex­pan­sion into var­i­ous African and Mid­dle East mar­kets.

The 3D De­sign Group achieved suc­cess at the 2011 EXSA Awards. Its achieve­ments in­cluded five Best of Stand Awards, a Cer­tifi­cate of Ex­cel­lence for its own stand at Markex Jo­han­nes­burg, and be­ing named Best Sup­plier Com­pany of the Year for stand de­sign and con­struc­tion. In ad­di­tion, 3D Group co-founder and man­ag­ing di­rec­tor John Kull­mann was in­ducted into EXSA’S Hall of Fame and 3D Fur­ni­ture Hire’s Tony Can­ta­tore re­ceived a Best Sup­plier Per­son Award. 3D De­sign was re­warded for its Kia stand at the Jo­han­nes­burg In­ter­na­tional Mo­tor Show, its Mercedes Benz stand at Au­tomechanika, its Telkom stand at Satcom, its South­ern Sun stand at Meet­ings Africa, the 3D Group stand at Markex, and for its Roche Di­ag­nos­tics stand at Lab­o­ra­tory Medicine.
