Keeping the spotlight on breast cancer
C L AREMART AUCTION Group entered into a partners h i p wi t h S mit h Tab a t a Buchanan Boyes (STBB) and assisted the legal firm’s efforts to raise awareness for breast cancer by co-sponsoring the 2Keep Abreast MTB Challenge, which took place at the Hazendal Wine Estate on November 19.
“The awareness event took the form of three mountain bike distance races,” says Claremart Group chief executive, Jonathan Smiedt.
“The fun and light 15km, the more and demanding 32km for experienced cyclists, and the extreme professional 42km races were well entered and well performed. The event was a fun day for the entire family on the estate and attendance was exceptional, considering the 35 degree Celsius heat that faced racers and supporters on the day.”
Funds raised through the event will go a long way towards the fight against cancer and will be donated by STBB to Cansa.
“The event promises to be well attended and supported next year and Claremart looks forward to being a key sponsor and partner in this extremely worthwhile cause again in the future. In particular, we’d luck to congratulate Men’s 42km Challenge winner, Mark Moir and Ladies’ 42km Challenge winner, Jane Seggie.”
