Life right suites at new Fish Hoek retirement hotel to be launched soon

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - PROPERTY -

SUITES AND rooms at the new life right retirement hotel in Fish Hoek will soon be released and will be marketed by Pam Golding Properties.

This follows the purchase by Zevenwacht Properties of the Avenue Hotel in First Avenue, which consists of five separate buildings on a 3 018m2 plot. The buildings are being customised to meet the specific needs of retired people and will be known as the Avenue Retirement Hotel. The hotel will be ready for occupation during the first quarter of next year.

Cape Peninsula Organisa- tion for the Aged (CPOA) has been appointed to run the Avenue as a retirement hotel with responsibility for catering, recreation and reception areas, the medical office and the management of the complex, says Zevenwacht managing director Harold Johnson.

“There has been a proliferation of retirement complexes in recent years but we believe the Avenue will offer excellent value for money. We bought well and have been able to pass on our savings to the public while offering superior accommodation.”

The life right units consist of single and double suites with en-suite bathrooms. CPOA will provide health care on site as well as dining and other amenities designed to enhance a comfortable lifestyle in an attractive and secure environment.

Zevenwacht is active in the development of a number of South Peninsula projects, having redeveloped Fish Hoek’s old Calders Kings building into the four-star Calders Hotel and Conference Centre and refurbished Francois restaurant into the modern Baracudas. All of these projects were designed by architects WP Bosch and Associates. Earlier Zevenwacht was responsible for the development of the Quayside Waterfront, the St George apartments and Seaforth restaurant in Simon’s Town.

In Stellenbosch, the company has also developed a hotel and a retirement village on Zevenwacht Wine Farm.

“The experience we have gained on these projects will be implemented at the Avenue to create a warm and relaxed environment for a comfortable retirement,” says Johnson.
