Signature home to go on the block
AN ARCHITECT- DESIGNED home at 54 Bathurst Road, Kenilworth, will fall under the Claremart Auction Group hammer next week.
“The custom- built threebedroom home is a signature creation of local architect Andrew Meiring, and is a good example of cutting-edge South African architectural design,” says auctioneer Garth Viljoen.
“Meiring was on the design team responsible for the Emporium at the V&A Waterfront and, since moving to New Zealand, he has contributed to the Auckland Waterfront. His design elements are noted as distinctively South African and this home carries his distinctive stamp of creativity and versatility,” says Viljoen.
Features include a private deck with vi ews of Table Mountain opening off the main bedroom, two designer bathrooms, an open-plan living area, a bar and a study. A swimming pool is set in a landscaped garden and the 517m2 property has undercover parking for three vehicles. There is also a separate flatlet and two storage cabins.
“Kenilworth allows access to the central southern suburb’s amenities and entertainment areas as well as good the Universi t y of Cape Town, schools and Cape Town city,” says Viljoen.
54 Bathurst Road will be on show tomorrow (December 11) from 2pm to 5pm, and the auction will take place at 1pm on Monday. Call Garth Viljoen on 021 425 8822.
