Letters that reveal truth

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - COMMENT -

TAKE A bow for last Saturday’s letter page! What a reading feast and so many memorable quotes.

From your excellent editorial (“The country has the right to ask what on earth the president – and for that matter Jeff Radebe thinks he is doing…”) and Brandan’s great cartoon, to Premier Helen Zille’s letter, (“I wish to pay tribute to Warrant Officer Kleynhans for enabling private investigator Botha to use his carefully compiled data to solve the murder and arrest the suspect…”)

From the hard-hitting letter by Michael Hardman about the problems that beset Africa to Andrew Donaldson’s perceptive and witty “A Famous Grouse” column which included the memorable lines: “Youth leader Peter Mokaba – a man often described as a firebrand and a hothead, when what they actually meant was stupid” and “Zuma was on the horns of a Malema”.
